Accessibility

This app is built for people who find most websites hard work. Big buttons, big type, no typing, and plain words.

The standard we meet

Every screen meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.1, at level AA. Body text and the main buttons also meet the stricter level AAA for how strongly the colours stand out.

What we have tested

  • Every screen used with a keyboard alone, with a clear outline on whatever is next.
  • Automatic checks for common problems on every screen, with none outstanding.
  • Text made twice as large, and bold text turned on, with nothing cut off.
  • Reduced motion turned on, so nothing moves or delays.
  • Screen reader use, so each screen is read out from its heading down.
  • Colour never used on its own to tell you something.

What is not perfect yet

  • Taking a photo uses your phone's own camera screen, which we do not control.
  • A photographed letter is a picture, so a screen reader cannot read the letter itself. We read it out to you in our own words instead.

Telling us about a problem

If any part of this is hard to use, we want to hear it. Email hello@isitdodgy.co.uk. We reply within one working day and tell you what we are going to do.
